The Slamming Bricks annual LGBTQ+ poetry slam competition is held annually in early September in Grand Junction, Colorado. It is the largest regional LGBTQ+ poetry slam in the four corners region. Event attendance is free. Participants are given lodging, meals, a performance stipend, and are free to sell merchandise at no cost. The poetry slam is a celebration of queer culture, liberation, and resistance. The event has also led to the publication of poetry anthologies, which you can check out through Mesa County Libraries.
