Computer Classes
Classes are free and open to the public, but registration is required. Call 243-4442 or your local branch to sign up.
Computer Class Descriptions
Basic Computer Skills Part I: This class is for the very beginning computer user. Skills taught include using the mouse and keyboard. Students will also learn about the various parts of the computer, the computer desktop, task bar, and start menu.
Basic Computer Skills Part II: Students should take this class after Basic Computers I. Students will learn how to create, save, close, and re-open a file. Students will also learn about file management including My Computer, My Documents, and the Recycle Bin.
Beginning Microsoft Excel: Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel 2007 in this hands-on class. Basic computer skills required (e.g. using mouse and keyboard).
Beginning Microsoft PowerPoint: Learn the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 in this hands-on class. Basic computer skills required (e.g. using mouse and keyboard).
Beginning Microsoft Publisher: Learn the basics of Microsoft Publisher 2007 in this hands-on class. Basic computer skills required (e.g. using mouse and keyboard).
Beginning Microsoft Word: Learn the basics of Microsoft Word 2007 in this hands-on class. Basic computer skills required (e.g. using mouse and keyboard).
Individual Instruction: 1/2 hour individual instruction appointments are perfect to get help with topics not covered in other classes (e.g. email, Facebook, etc.).
Intro to Google Tools: Google is much more than a search engine! Learn about other free Google Tools like Google Maps, Google Calendar, Gmail and more. Basic computer Skills required (e.g. using mouse and keyboard).
Intro to the Internet: Learn about what the Internet is and basic terms in this hands-on class. Students will become familiar with using web browsers to navigate the Internet. Other skills covered include bookmarking favorite websites, printing from the Internet and basic Internet searching. Basic computer skills required (e.g. using mouse and keyboard).
Library Basics: Learn the basics of using your Mesa County Library. Topics include searching the catalog and locating resources on the website and in the stacks.
